PART II ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

Hall + Bednarczyk Architects is a multiple RIBA award winning practice based in Chepstow, Monmouthshire – located close to Bristol and Cardiff. A varied portfolio of projects includes new build and creative re-use projects, with the studio involved in high quality one-off houses and bespoke commercial & public works with values up to £4m.  Much of the practice’s work, which includes projects in the education and heritage sectors, adopts advanced methods of construction & detailing to create ambitious contemporary architecture. Frequently our buildings must respond to pristine landscape settings or protected contexts and these are increasingly located further afield as our client base expands nationwide.

We have an immediate full-time opportunity for a Part II architectural assistant to become the 10th team member of our ambitious architectural practice.

The successful candidate will gain the opportunity to work on projects at all stages of their design evolution from client’s brief to on-site construction, and will be encouraged to contribute to an inclusive practice culture. We are looking for creative flair backed up by a deep interest in the act of building. Where desired we support and provide time to prepare for RIBA Part III examinations.

Candidates should have excellent verbal, written and drawn communication skills. Fluent English is essential.

The practice uses ArchiCAD modelling software for 2D/3D draughting, so prior experience of BIM will be highly advantageous. Fluency in Sketchup, Photoshop and InDesign are essential. A full, clean driving licence is valuable due to the location of our projects which may not always be served by public transport.

We can offer an excellent salary and career progression to reflect the abilities of a talented candidate and also support flexible working arrangements. Our team is friendly and supportive. We welcome applications from minorities often under-represented in the architectural profession.
